Is enjoying it’s fifth year at Oak Grove Park. The Halloween fun is
sponsored by the Northland Optimists, presented by the Gladstone Parks
& Recreation Department, River & Prairie Storyweavers and the
Gladstone Area Chamber of Commerce. This safe Halloween event takes
place at the Gladstone Amphitheatre in Oak Grove Park.
This
event is for all ages with festivities that include “ghost story”
telling and of course -trick or treating. There will be scary stories
for older children and the young at heart.

GladFest

GLADFEST 29 - Fri.; 5 p.m.–10 p.m. Sat,; 10 a.m.–10
p.m., Sun.; noon–5 p.m. Activities include daily entertainment from Center
Stage. Also plan for Friday evening Fireworks, Saturday morning’s Parade, and
Sunday’s Classic Car Show. A Carnival will be open for kids of all ages, all
three days of the Festival, with an “All You Can Ride” wristband special on
Sunday afternoon from 1 p.m.–5 p.m. Kid’s Corner will once again be Sponsored by
Faubion United Methodist Church, offering activities and fun stuff for
children.You will find interesting hand-crafted items in the Craft Tents along
Cherry Street and additional interesting items and information in the
“Marketplace” Tents just west of City Hall. Step Back in Time by visiting the

For twenty six years, this major Northland event has drawn crowds in the tens of thousands, and it brings with it enormous publicity for Gladstone as well as the businesses involved in making it happen.
As always there will be exciting entertaining events, such as the "Gladstone Idol" contest. This event is open to all Northland residents 16 years of age or older, and will be hosted by Ponch with Mix 93.3
There will also be Fireworks, a Dog Show, a Train Show, an Apple Pie Baking contest, live music, excellent food, and much more.
So come on out, you don't won't to miss any of the fun at this years 27th Annual Gladfest, September 29th, 30th & October 1st.

Description: Personal Safety Awareness Class The personal safety class is a cooperative program presented by the Gladstone Parks & Recreation Department and the Gladstone Public Safety Department. This program is designed to increase individual awareness of the potential threat that may exist in any given location. The presentation will provide guidance in making good decisions both at home and away when it comes to personal safety. The program will also give participants a working knowledge of what to look for and how to react in different situations. Description: The Gladstone Parks & Recreation Department and British Soccer Camps will be co-hosting a youth soccer camp for children ages 5-12, June 19-23, 2006. The camp will be held from 9:00 a.m. to 12 p.m. at Happy Rock Park located at 76th and North Antioch in Gladstone, MO. British Soccer Camps has developed its programs to challenge each individual player in an environment that provides a fun and exciting learning experience. Camp price is $80.00 per participant. This includes a camp T-shirt and soccer ball. Families interested in hosting a coach for the week should contact the Gladstone Parks & Recreation Department immediately. Hosting family receives a free week of soccer camp. Registration Deadline is Friday, June 9, 2006.

This Chamber and City sponsored event is rockin' toward its 10th year of fun and great music! Bluesfest is held the second weekend in June at Oak Grove Park, located at 76th & N. Troost. This festival is enjoyed by blues fans not just from our community, but from surrounding cities, counties, and states!
The festival continues to grow and attract crowds of over 15,000 each year. Bluesfest is a great festival for families to attend. This event is free to everyone! Parking is only $5.

City Wide Garage Sale

In conjunction with Bluesfest weekend, the City of Gladstone has established this weekend as a City-Wide Garage Sale. During these two days, residents can have individual garage sales without applying for a permit. Although a permit is not required, please be aware of the following regulations regarding the placement of signs: 1. A maximum of six (6) signs are allowed, no larger than 4-square feet. 2. Signs must be 10 feet back from street. 3. Signs should not be attached to telephone poles, street signs, trees, etc. 4. Signs should not be displayed sooner than one (1) day prior to sale. 5. Sign should be removed at the close of the garage sale.

Description: The Gladstone Parks & Recreation Department will be hosting a coed children’s T-ball league this summer. Scheduled to begin Tuesday, May 30, 2006 at Happy Rock Park. The T-ball league is for children 5 years of age to 2nd grade. The program will meet on Tuesday and Thursday evening from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Practice will be held on Tuesday evenings and games will be played on Thursday evenings. The season will last 9 weeks. Registration fee is $35.00 and includes a uniform T-shirt and ball cap for all participants to keep. Registration will begin April 3 and conclude May 12 or until leagues fill. Volunteer coaches are needed. For more information call 436-2200.

Join Gladstone Parks & Recreation for Gladstone Night at the Royals on Saturday, May 19, 2006 at 7:10 p.m. The Royals will be taking on interstate rival St. Louis Cardinals at the “K”. This game is sold out, so take advantage of purchasing tickets through the Gladstone Parks & Recreation office. Tickets are $17 for upper deck reserved seating. Must be purchased by April 28, 2006.

Spring Brush Disposal

The City of Gladstone’s annual spring brush disposal is scheduled for May 5th – 7th at Gladstone’s Public Works facility (4000 NE 76th Street) north of Happy Rock Park. Grass, leaves, brush and tree limbs will be accepted from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM each day. General trash and debris will not be accepted. Leaves and grass clippings must be brought in paper bags or containers that can be emptied and removed. Proof of Gladstone residency is required.
